Health and Wellness Programs

Not all health care programs have to be centered around traditional health care. In fact, many people have begun to benefit from the alternative, or complementary field of medicine. Some of these alternative health and wellness programs prepare people to become acupuncturists, homeopaths, and massage therapists. Most of those working in these fields, and indeed the schools that train them, believe in working hand in hand with traditional western medicine to offer the most relief to their patients.
For a long time, chiropractic care was considered to be an alternative form of health care and it is still typically offered in health care programs instead of as a medical degree. I know from family experiences that chiropractic care can be very beneficial and can even reduce or remove the need for pain medications. My husband has severe back pain and for years the only thing doctors would say is that he should take pain medication and possibly have surgery. After just a few visits to our chiropractor, however, we discovered the main source of his pain and with treatment had a significant reduction in pain. I’ve heard examples like this from many fields of alternative medicine and believe that investing in an education in alternative health care programs is definitely worth considering. What is your favorite form of alternative medicine and why?
