Art Programs

Art Programs

One of my best friend’s daughters is an amazing artist. She is now a sophomore in high school, but even when she was in third grade she was better than most adults I know. Now that she is in high school her mother has arranged for her to have one of the best art teachers in our county and she seems to be thriving. They are hoping that, by the time she is a senior, she will be eligible for some sort of art scholarship (the economy being what it is).

Now she has to decide if she is more interested in one of the traditional art programs or one of the computer art programs. If she focuses on one of the more traditional forms of art such as painting, sculpture or drawing, she feels her financial options could be limited in the future. However, she really enjoys all of the traditional mediums. She is good with computers and knows she can succeed with computer art, but it isn’t her first love. However, the demand for computer art seems to be much higher what with animated films, special effects and video games.

The decision for her seems to be coming down to love or money. What would you do?
