Culinary Arts
I absolutely love to cook. But I don’t cook in the classic, amazing French chef kind of a way. Heck, I’m not even in the “I aspire to be Martha” fan club. I’m more of a throw-it-together-and-hope-for-the-best sort of cook. Usually that works out well, but not always.
I say all this to clarify that I am in no way a chef. However, I’d really like to be. Especially a pastry chef.
I love to bake and make light, fluffy, bready things. It is one of those little joys that I have, especially around the holidays. Perhaps it was holiday baking that had me thinking about my career choice as an educator and writer. What would it have been like to complete a culinary arts program? The culinary arts cover my favorite, pastries, as well as everything else that is edible.
Have you ever thought of becoming a chef? Do you love to prepare scrumptious and gorgeous meals? Then the culinary arts may be ideal for you. By completing a culinary arts program the ability to get paid to do what you love becomes available to you. As with any discipline you can choose a specialty that speaks to you or enjoy a bit of this and a bit of that to obtain a good general knowledge and skill base.
So tell me, what will you be cooking?
